The Client

Tiki Tan Tanning Centers was built to accompany the ultimate vacation spot.  Each of their many regional locations feature six levels of comforting tanning beds and custom sunless spray tanning.  Their luxurious tanning centers will give you that golden tan you always wanted while leaving you replenished with Vitamin D.

The Challenge

Tiki Tan first opened their doors starting as a small business many years ago.  Quickly, their luxurious tanning centers and customer satisfaction allowed for Tiki Tan to monopolize the market.  There was an overall consensus that their website did not do justice to the memorable experience customers raved about.  They were committed to incorporating a website that would reflect their attention to detail and become a marketing tool they could leverage to gain new business.  

Our Approach

The website was our first opportunity to work with Tiki Tan Tanning Centers.  Our introductory meeting consisted of spending a reasonable amount of time understanding the scope of work and what the Owner's expectations were.  We worked as a team to develop a concise wireframe and head into a board room discussion to gauge the direction of the brand.  Our creative team directed a new branding for Tiki Tan to encompass some new elements such as the floral and palm leaves that would soon be incorporated with the new web interface.  The platform decided for development was Flash and would enable us to animate many features of the design.  As a result, we proposed our process of rebranding and Tiki Tan accepted.

The Outcome

The rebranding of Tiki Tan Tanning Centers gave a fresh new look to the experienced business but maintained their traditional typographic logo.  The new mark was predominantly used throughout the website, featured front and center within the mast header.  Our development team created an animated user experience along with a number of functional aspects.  The site contained a database of Tanning Tips, inventory of Equipment, Location descriptions and an interactive Promotions section, all controlled by a basic XML Content Management System.  Through creative elements and a strong brand presence, the new website for Tiki Tan Tanning Centers was undoubtedly a success.
